FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, AUGUST 23rd, 2015
This weekend FHE Health (FHE) community outreach team attended the 5th Annual Animal Adoption Fair, held today, August 23rd. As a part of FHE Health’s mission to extend helping hands to the community and surrounding areas.
FHE Health Community Outreach Team is part of an effort to spread awareness and education about drugs and alcohol. The team attends events like Animal Adoption Fair to give back to the community through their participation as well as giving the public general information about the perils of substance abuse, and how to treat it. During events the outreach team aims to educate the community about the latest drug trends, provide drug tests and offer support to anyone who wants to get better.
The Animal Adoption Fair
The Annual Animal Adoption Fair is the largest adoption event within the three counties that participated. The event helped animals from shelters within the area to find forever homes. From 10am to 6pm locals were able to engage in the fun, food and live music as well as meet the animals and decide if they want to adopt.
Along with being able to adopt an animal, the event also included information tables, exhibits, and dog training tips. Anyone with an animal could also come to the event and see the vet who was on site doing routine vaccinations, micro-chipping, teeth cleaning, nail clipping and more.
Last year, Brook Katz, an organizer for the event spoke on the results of this event, “I am very proud to be able to tell you all that we were able to place 326 animals into new forever homes! This brings the total over the last 4 years to over 1,1000 animals adopted!”
2015’s event brought even more possibility to more animals in need. FHE Health is proud to have been a part of such a life-changing event for all of our furry friends.
