At FHE Health, treatment schedules provide you with the structure and consistency you need while still making room for care tailored to your diagnosis, goals, symptoms, and level of need. Each schedule may include evidence-based therapy, psychiatric care, medical support, and specialized programming delivered by a large and experienced multidisciplinary team.
No two treatment experiences are exactly the same here. FHE Health places you in treatment communities with others who share similar needs and experiences, helping care feel more relevant and focused. Let’s talk about what treatment schedules typically look like in our residential and outpatient programming.
What a Typical Day Looks Like in Residential Treatment
For many people considering treatment, one of the biggest questions is: What will my days actually look like? Knowing what to expect can make the decision to seek help feel less overwhelming.
Each of our communities at FHE has its own clinical team, therapists, group facilitators, and programming. This allows you to spend your days surrounded by peers who share similar experiences while building meaningful relationships with staff members who specialize in your needs.
Although schedules vary by program, residential treatment days often include a combination of:
- Individual therapy
- Specialty group therapy
- Family therapy
- Mindfulness and meditation
- Nutrition education
- Experiential therapies
- Recreational activities
- Wellness programming
The goal is to create a balanced treatment experience that combines clinical care with opportunities for reflection, connection, movement, and the practice of recovery skills in a supportive environment.
Residential Curriculum and Clinical Programming
FHE Health takes a different approach from traditional treatment models, in which every patient attends the same groups regardless of their background or needs.
Instead, FHE developed specialized treatment tracks tailored to specific populations and experiences. This approach allows you to connect more deeply with your peers and receive care from professionals who understand the challenges you face.
Specialized programming includes:
- Gender-specific treatment communities
- Dedicated First Responder programming
- Mental health-focused treatment
- Substance use treatment programs
- Specialized clinicians who understand the unique challenges of your experiences, whether you are navigating addiction, mental health concerns, trauma, or the pressures of first-responder service
Rather than relying on generalists, FHE Health brings together professionals who specialize in the areas they are most passionate about and have experience treating. This strengthens the connection between you and your care teams and enables clinicians to provide you more focused support.
Each treatment community follows its own curriculum and clinical programming. Groups are intentionally planned and sequenced so that you can continue to build skills throughout treatment rather than repeating the same material.
Behind the scenes, we coordinate every aspect of care and work together to ensure you receive a cohesive treatment experience.
FHE Health is also a teaching hospital that partners with universities across the country to train future psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, mental health counselors, and social workers. This commitment to education helps create a dynamic clinical environment where providers continue to learn and incorporate current best practices.

PHP/IOP Schedules
FHE Health’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and intensive outpatient programming offer a structured treatment experience that allows you to begin practicing recovery skills outside a residential setting.
While PHP includes several hours of clinical programming each treatment day, the experience is about much more than the number of hours spent in groups. The focus is on creating a varied, engaging schedule that supports emotional growth, life skill development, and long-term recovery.
PHP and IOP schedules may include a wide range of therapeutic experiences, such as:
- Process groups
- Individual therapy
- Recreational therapy
- Art therapy
- Yoga
- Breathwork
- Outdoor activities
- Acupuncture
- Neuro therapies
- Fitness and wellness activities
- Psychoeducation
- Recovery skills development
You progress through a thoughtfully designed curriculum that introduces new therapeutic experiences and opportunities for growth throughout treatment. The goal is to provide meaningful engagement rather than a repetitive schedule where you attend the same groups each day.
How Schedules Support Recovery
Consistent schedules can help you:
- Establish healthier routines
- Reduce uncertainty during treatment
- Develop coping strategies
- Strengthen relationships with peers and clinicians
- Build confidence for life after treatment
The environment at FHE is designed to support healing. Many people arrive expecting a traditional treatment setting and are surprised by the atmosphere here. Our six-and-a-half-acre campus was designed to feel like a supportive community, an environment where people can connect, heal, and begin building a new routine. With multiple buildings, shared spaces, and opportunities for connection and movement throughout the day, you will experience treatment within a supportive community.
