Restore, FHE Health’s mental health program, treats primary mental health conditions as their own dedicated track. If you’re also managing a substance use disorder, we treat both together as co-occurring conditions, focused on whichever is driving your most immediate needs.
Conditions treated through Restore include:
Your treatment plan is built around the level of care that matches where you are clinically right now, from round-the-clock residential support to a few hours of structured treatment each weekday. You can move between levels as your needs change, with the same clinical team supporting you throughout.
Care at every level draws on:
- On-site psychiatric care and medication management
- Evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT-informed therapy and EMDR
- Neurorehabilitation services, including qEEG-guided neurotherapy, TMS and neurofeedback
- Medical integration that coordinates your physical and mental health care under one team
Levels of Mental Health Care at FHE Health in Deerfield Beach
With mental health treatment at FHE Health, you start at the level of care that matches where you are clinically, and that level can shift as you do. Each level below has its own dedicated page with full program details.
Residential Mental Health Treatment
If you are dealing with intense mental health symptoms, a structured, live-in setting gives you the constant clinical presence needed to stabilize safely. Residential mental health treatment pairs round-the-clock support with the same clinical depth used across the rest of Restore, including co-occurring care, motivational interviewing and family therapy when it’s part of your treatment plan.
Your residential care includes:
- 24/7 clinical support on FHE Health’s Deerfield Beach campus
- Neurorehabilitation services built into your treatment plan
- Co-occurring care if you also have a substance use disorder
You typically move into residential care when daily life has become difficult to manage safely on your own, then step down to outpatient treatment once that stability is in place. Residential stays typically run 30 to 90 days, or as clinically deemed appropriate.

Outpatient Mental Health Treatment (PHP and IOP)
Outpatient mental health treatment gives you structure and clinical support without a live-in stay. It’s a good fit if you don’t need 24/7 supervision but still benefit from a defined treatment schedule. Restore offers outpatient care at two levels: partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP).
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
PHP gives you structured treatment during the day without living on campus full-time. It is often a step down from residential care once you’re stable enough not to need 24/7 supervision.
| PHP Element | What It Looks Like | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Daily structure | About five hours of group therapy per day, plus individual services | Keeps the intensity of residential-level programming without an overnight stay |
| Evenings | Spent at home or in supportive housing on campus | Gives you a chance to practice what you’re working on in a lower-pressure setting |
| Wellness support | Nutrition support built into your plan | Addresses physical stability as part of your recovery, not just the clinical side |
| Clinical oversight | Your Restore treatment team stays involved throughout | Lets your plan adjust in real time as you continue to stabilize |
| Typical entry point | Often a step down from residential care | Marks the point where round-the-clock supervision is no longer clinically necessary |
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
IOP provides regular therapy and support while you live on or off campus. Here is how patients tend to arrive at this level of care and what’s involved once they’re here:
| IOP Detail | What It Looks Like | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Stepping down from residential | You’ve completed the most intensive phase of care | Signals you’re ready for a lighter clinical footprint while staying connected to your treatment team |
| Stepping down from PHP | You’ve built on the daily structure PHP provided | Shows you’re ready to manage more of your schedule independently |
| Entering directly as a commuter | IOP is your starting point, with no prior level required | Fits patients whose needs match outpatient-level support from day one |
| Schedule | Behavioral Health IOP meets Monday through Friday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM | Structured enough to maintain momentum without requiring a full day on campus |
| Housing | On-campus or off-campus options | Lets you choose the living arrangement that fits your situation |
| Access to services | Access to FHE Health’s medical, neurorehabilitation and holistic services | Keeps you connected to the broader Restore treatment system at this lighter level of care |
Schedules and hours described here are examples only. FHE Health’s actual programming varies by patient and program. Consult with admissions for current schedules.

What to Expect in Treatment at FHE Health
Every patient who comes to FHE Health starts from the same foundation: a clear picture of what’s going on clinically. From intake through daily treatment, the structure is flexible and tailored to you.
Your First Days at FHE Health
Before treatment planning begins, our clinical team builds a clear picture of what you’re dealing with through validated screening tools and a thorough intake conversation. That groundwork shapes everything that follows, from your level of care to which therapists and services are involved.
That process draws on:
- Validated screening tools for depression, anxiety, trauma and suicide risk
- ASAM placement criteria to determine the right level of care
- A treatment plan started by your therapist, with input from other disciplines as needed
From there, your therapist develops a plan that may include neurotherapy, EMDR, psychiatric care or other specialized services, depending on what your assessments and history indicate.
Getting Started at FHE Health
Deciding between residential and outpatient mental health treatment doesn’t have to happen alone. You might need the round-the-clock structure of residential care to get stable, or you may be ready for the flexibility of PHP or IOP while living at home. Our team can help you sort out which level fits your situation, rather than leaving you to guess.
Because FHE Health is licensed to treat both primary mental health conditions and substance use disorders, we can also address co-occurring concerns within the same treatment system when needed.
