Joi Honer
Director of Alumni Services
Joi Honer directs the operations that support our alumni in their recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. Ms. Honer, who has been in long-term recovery for over 40 years, has worked in the treatment field for over 33 years. She holds certifications in addiction and co-occurring disorder counseling and a bachelor’s degree in addiction studies, having graduated summa cum laude.
Joi is passionate about wellness and recovery. She counts it an honor to be able to provide positive, life-saving connections for our alumni, as well as opportunities for giving back. Describing what gives her a sense of meaning and purpose in her work, Ms. Honer quotes Thomas Merton, who said, “We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone—we find it with another.”
