‘Veronica Mars’ Actor Brad Bufanda Dead by Suicide
Another celebrity has lost the battle with mental health and suicide.
Brad Bufanda, best known in the acting world by his role on “Veronica Mars,” died by suicide on Wednesday, at the age of 34. He had suffered traumatic injuries after jumping of a building in order to commit suicide, according to Lt David Smith of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Bufanda’s suicide came as a shock to many. “We are completely devastated, for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being,” said Bufanda’s manager. “He was reviving his career having just completed two movies and we are shocked and saddened by his passing. The family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time.”
Bufanda had moved to Los Angeles after high school in order to pursue a career in film. In addition to “Veronica Mars,” his career includes roles on TV shows such as “Malcolm in the Middle,” “CSI: Miami,” and “Days of Our Lives.” He also had a role in “A Cinderella Story,” a movie from 2004 with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray.
Bufanda had also trained as a professional basketball player, but returned to acting after an injury.
While there are little details surrounding the shocking news of his suicide, Bufanda has been known to allude to his mental health issues on social media.
