National Outreach Liaison
Alex Menas is FHE Health’s National Outreach Liaison for the mid-Atlantic region (comprising Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia).
Alex helps individuals and families connect with affordable treatment solutions for addiction and mental health needs. Members of the public and private sectors—from first responders and the military to private businesses, healthcare providers, and others—regularly consult him for trusted information and education about behavioral healthcare options.
What inspired Alex to do this work? The experience of growing up in a small town in West Virginia and losing many friends, neighbors, and acquaintances to the opioid epidemic.
Recalling that time, Alex said, “Almost daily I’d hear, ‘This person needs help and is using, and we don’t know what to do.’” It was a formative period in his life and shaped his mission to help people suffering from addiction and other mental health disorders.
Alex is a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Virginia Military Institute. He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife and three kids.
