Ric Jorge is a 29-year veteran of the fire service, with more than seven years’ experience in the mental health field. Mr. Jorge provides counseling and therapy to patients in FHE Health’s “Shatterproof” program, a specialized treatment track for first responders.
Mr. Jorge spent 24 years as a career firefighter for Palm Beach County. He has delivered lectures and “H.O.T.” (“Hands-On Training”) classes nationally and internationally. Ric has also developed training courses for mental health professionals about how to help first responders with PTSD, drug and alcohol problems and other mental health conditions.
Mr. Jorge leads peer support groups for uniformed personnel facing these issues. He is the author of the book Developing Firefighter Resiliency, another training resource for mental health professionals. Ric has also written numerous articles in magazines like Fire Engineering and 1stResponder.
