As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nicola has dedicated much of her adult life to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the community of greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was born and raised. Nicola loves to see people overcome addiction and mental health struggles and go on to rebuild their lives. This passion drives her commitment to providing excellence in care and leadership that delivers it.
An extensive and varied background has equipped Nicola with a deep and comprehensive understanding of patient care. This enables her to implement effective, patient-centered practices that enhance outcomes and satisfaction. Some of her accomplishments have included reducing readmission rates, achieving high patient satisfaction scores, retaining staff during challenging times, and meeting high compliance standards within the industry.
Nicola’s career has spanned more than two decades. During this time, she worked in many different roles, from direct patient care to senior leadership, and gained proficiency with a wide range of behavioral health disorders, specifically addiction, mood, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders in both inpatient and outpatient environments. She also honed skills in psychopharmacology, suicide risk assessments, medication management, and dual diagnosis treatment.
In her current role, Nicola leverages these diverse experiences to foster a culture of innovation and adaptability, driving organizational growth while maintaining the highest standards of care. She oversees nursing operations, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of clinical programs that improve patient care across multiple settings. Her expertise in financial management ensures that resources are utilized efficiently to facilitate sustainable growth.
Nicola holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Purdue, with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
