We can live along the lines of God consciousness or live along the lines of human consciousness. The former is one of discipline and freedom, the latter, one of bondage.
How often does my mind point the finger at others, whether my accusations are right or wrong? I then will justify my inappropriate behavior and make it appropriate, where I only focus on what I think you did to me. I then wish to or will retaliate. I then become what I have accused others of doing and stepped into the problem rather then living free from bondage of self and the thinking mind. The thinking mind, where my ego and fear have free room and board as long I allow it to be there, never want to be silenced.
Can I, am I even willing to “raise the bar” on how I live and truly along the lines of spiritual progress and “carry the vision of Gods will into ALL my activities”.
To quote Joel Goldsmith:
“To live the spiritual life means to live above the human sense of life, to live without recourse to human modes and means, that is to live by the Christ. It means never to return evil for evil, never to pray or hope or wish or desire they another suffer for his offense-even his offense to us-never to desire to recoup our losses, which is the human way of life and , under the laws, legal.
But legal or not, this is not the way of the Christ. True, it someone defrauds us, it is considered legitimate, proper and right to sue him, but such procedure is not spiritual.”
“And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also” –
Mathew 5:40
