Steven Miranda
National Director of Strategic Development
Nationally renowned treatment advocate Steven Miranda, who has helped thousands of Americans access care for addiction and mental health needs during his more than two decades of service, has joined the staff of FHE
Health. As FHE’s new “National Director of Strategic Development,” Miranda will be leading the charge to make treatment more accessible to more people who need it around the country. Miranda has worked in the business development and behavioral health world for more than 25 years. During that time, he has excelled at educating audiences about addiction and mental health issues, leading and building teams, and driving business growth.
Miranda started his career as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional with the Department of Correction. (The EAP certification process is rigorous, typically requiring 1,000 hours of coursework and one year of work experience in an Employee Assistance setting; Miranda said the process took three years to complete.)
At the DOC, Miranda developed a curriculum to train and assist first responders and DOC members and employees about how to manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance. (Miranda is a retired first responder and corrections officer himself.) He also received the “Manuel Carballo Governors Award” for excellence in public service.
After 22 years with the DOC, Miranda went on to serve as a treatment resource to over 12 national unions and their members, including Chrysler, GM, Ford, TWU, IBEW, and Teamsters, among others. Before joining FHE, he also served in high-level leadership roles for several well-known recovery centers, where he successfully man- aged and grew business development teams. Together, they helped thousands of individuals navigate treat- ment—and helping more people access the care they need is the goal that drives Miranda’s work.
