A new synthetic drug has New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu and local law enforcement concerned for resident’s wellbeing. Carfentanil, a synthetic opioid can be extremely dangerous or fatal – even in the smallest dosages.
“Literally a speck of it–grain of it–can be deadly,” Governor Sununu warns.
CBS Boston reports, “after learning about the recent arrival of Carfentanil, a substance that law enforcement says is 10,000 times more powerful than morphine.”
Carfentanil is a relative of fentanyl, the opioid found in Prince’s home shortly after his death. The synthetic opioid has recently made headlines in the Midwest for causing a dramatic increase in overdoses in Ohio.
Governor Sununu is working with other governors throughout the state and New England to find solutions to the ever-expanding drug problem.
The governor confirmed that federal funding is available – he just needs to make sure that it is spent on the right programs.
“The New Hampshire legislature is also acting to fight the opioid problem. The New Hampshire House passed a bill Thursday that will ensure that drug treatment services will continue to be part of health insurance plans” CBS Boston reports. We can help you find drug rehab centers in NH!
